ANNUAL REPORT: The Special Education Parent Advisory Committee of the South Orange & Maplewood School District (SEPAC SOMA) is committed to working with families, the school district and the wider community for the betterment of all students. In this comprehensive narrative Annual Report for the 2022-2023 School Year, we explain the work that was done which helped us accomplish our goals and what we have learned to move us forward in the new school year.
In short, it was a busy year making connections, expanding our reach, sharing information and resources, and advocating to improve the lives of students with disabilities. We hope you’ll take some time to review all that goes into a year in the life of a parent advisory group and consider how you can help support this important work going forward. Any level of involvement – joining us as a board member, school liaison or sub-committee member, attending meetings, providing input through our surveys, or simply spreading the word about SEPAC SOMA to your friends and neighbors − makes a difference!
